secrets~
overall personality~ Hakumei will seem apathetic at first glance, not really caring for anything or one. He is not a talkative person unless you happen to befriend him, or get him drunk. In the few times when he gets upset he will take off. It doesn't matter what he is doing at the time, he will try his best to leave so others don't see him when he shows emotion, unless around Rukia or Aisa. He has a major soft spot for children thanks to piratically raising his sisters. He is rather music-oriented, and does street performances with an old violin he bought from a pawn shop. He doesn't like to show it but Hakumei hates to be alone. Despite this he tries to distance himself from most of humanity because he believes that most people will turn out like his father. He has the mind to be stubborn. He will fight anyone on any little action that they want done until he gets to know them.
If anyone were to be deemed -by him- his friend he would willingly protect them from danger. Despite his disposition Haku is not one to lie, if asked a question that he does not want to answer he does just that, he does not answer. He will walk away if being silent isn't enough. He is 'blunt to a fault' as some would put it, if he doesn't like something or someone he will out right say it not caring for the person's feelings. He will stay in the shadows most of the time, having trained as a ninja in order to survive. A strange trait that he has is he's curious, but tries to hide it. If something catches his interest he will go investigate, unless there are others paying attention to his movements. When with friends and his sisters he can be very adventurous, loving to find different paths through cities and underground paths that others would be to frightened to go through.

history~ Hakumei was the first born child of three. He lived in fear of his abusive father and highly bipolar mother until his younger sister Rukia was born. He was only three at the time when she was born but he knew that it was his job to protect her when they got older. As time passed he was used as a "stress relief" for father while he was around, when he wasn't Haku was busy keeping their Rukia fed and taken care of while their mother did other things, too "busy" to deal with children. Haku became very protective of his sister but taught her how to take care of her self slowly so she wouldn't have to rely on others too much in case something happened to him.
Between the age of six and ten Hakumei was trained by their uncle, he was an older man with a kind hand. At first when Haku would mess up he would shy away from the man thinking he would get beaten. The man would just smile and tell him that it was ok and to try again. Haku grew to like the old man, bringing Rukia along to watch while he was trained so she wouldn't have to be home alone. But the day came when the old man had to move. Haku was devastated that his uncle had to move, with in the same year there was a new addition to the family.
By the time Rukia was eight and Haku was eleven their mother bore another child, Aisa before being beaten and murdered by their father in one of his fits of rage as he believed she slept with another man -which was untrue. All the tasks their mother had been given passed to Hakumei. At that he was required to clean, cook and take care of both girls while keeping them out of sight and quiet while their father was around.
At the age of twelve Hakumei was cleaning up the house, the girls were drawing near by when their father came home. He was livid like he was most of the time, but this time was a bit different. It was the same rage he came home that he killed their mother with. The first thing the man did was head straight toward Rukia and Aisa, screaming at them for making a mess when all they had out was a paper and some ink. Hakumei got between the man and dared to yell back. As punishment he was whipped. That night Hakumei suck out of his room and retrieved his sisters before leaving the house.
The first thing he did was track down their uncle and ask for money so they could get on a boat to England. The old man didn't question, having seen the blood on the boy's shirt, he gave them enough money to get them to England and a good month's worth of food before taking them down to the docks. He waited with them until the boat was ready to leave before bidding them luck and good health and told them to contact him as soon as they could so he could send them more money.
The landed in England about 29 days later. Hakumei exchanged the yen his uncle gave him for English Pounds, after asking ten different people who to go to for that, before finding a small rental. He figured it would be best to find a way to make money so he would offer to help the maids of the house in exchange for small amounts of coins. He asked one of the maids if they would enroll Rukia into school for him so she could get a proper education. She accepted as long as she got to play with Aisa. While the maid was taking care of Aisa and Rukia was in school, Haku would go down to the street and do odd chores for people for money. Eventually he gained enough to buy a violin while keeping Rukia in school and keeping up on the rent.
When he had free time he'd practice on the violin, and when he figured out things he'd show Rukia, who had high interest in the instrument. They lived like that until Aisa was five, than Haku put her into school as well, and took up playing his violin on the street for change from aristocrats. He saved up a small amount of money at a time to learn the scale and how to read music from a music teacher before he bought some sheet music. He learned the songs and started taking requests from people to play for others. He never started school, but does his best to keep his sisters in school.

The boy stood in front of a new cafe, the owner had asked him to play to get customers for a coin for every customer he brought in. He strung his bow and readied his violin as people started to walk by. He lightly moved the bow across the strings creating a sweet sound before starting a soft-Oprah song. The aristocrats started to walk by, some stopped to listen while others decided to go in. He played for six hours straight, bringing in quite a few customers. At closing the owner of the shop payed Haku and he went on to meet his sisters at school. As he walked up to the property the kids were just getting out, the last bell ringing loudly as the children ran out. Rukia and Aisa were the last to walk out of the doors. A slight smile crossed his lips as he watched his sisters approach. "Come on, let's get home."~
